Dr. Keith L. Knutson is a leader in the field of cancer immunology with a focus on breast and ovarian cancers. Based at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Knutson’s pioneering research is dedicated to developing cancer vaccines that engage the body’s immune system to target and destroy cancer cells. He is currently leading clinical trials aimed at preventing recurrence of triple-negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive forms of the disease.

Dr. Knutson serves as the principal investigator of a $13.3 million Department of Defense grant and leads the Artemis Project—a collaborative effort to develop vaccines for breast cancer prevention. With a research emphasis on CD4 T cell vaccines and adoptive T cell therapy, he works to ensure patients receive long-term immunity after treatment. His work has been widely published and honored by prestigious institutions including the National Cancer Institute.
